Impressions of the day ...

Here they are:

DAY ONE:
·       My Family Brochures – how to use them, organize temple work
·       New missionaries to bring the filled out “My Family” brochures with them when they arrive
·       We could have the missionaries use a computer to do Family History work for new members
·       Have missionaries spend more time in the FH Centers (there are non-members there)
·       Discussed missionaries going to the Temple, they can go for the endowment of a new member  … could missionaries doing Baptism for the Dead?
·       We are entitled to revelation, but we need to ask for it
·       Too many missionaries see their “mission” as the “end” … how do we help our missionaries to transition when they come home
·       Talked about missionary planner for returned missionaries
·       Tracking “rescues” … need to treat a returning member like a new convert
·       I am not what I used to be … I am now a disciple of Christ …we need to work harder to align our will with Heavenly Father’s will
·       When we are looking at our goals, we need to remember there are people behind these
·       2nd Nephi 31:3 … Heaven Father will be with us
·       Mosiah 5:13 … we need to understand who the Master is
·       We need to teach the “nature of God” … missionaries need to know who they really are
·       Our missionaries come from various backgrounds … we need to help them to stay active
·       We have an eternal bond with our missionaries

·       Learned a lot about the doctrine at this seminar
·       “What stories will your missionaries tell about you?”
·       Elder Holland’s video … the Lord needs disciples … our love and commitment to our missionaries is eternal
·       There is no power in baptism, it is in keeping our covenants … promises are a powerful reason to keep our covenants
·       Struggling about what we were before … we have to walk by faith
·       We don’t have to let go of everything … just the things that don’t let us know our divine identity … things that might be holding us back
·       Our experiences have brought us to this point in our life … our experiences can be helpful to our missionaries … we became a set apart missionary
·       It is an honor to testify of Jesus Christ
·       We are gathered here not by accident … the assignments of missionaries are by the Spirit …
·       We will need strong leaders in the Church in the future
·       When you are involved in the Lord’s work the power behind you is greater than the obstacles
·       Love is loyalty … there are levels of love

DAY TWO:
·       Impressed with the talk on Planning … to work with our missionaries now
·       Love the acronym PLAN
·       Importance of counselling, instead of directing … a powerful way to learn is the Lord’s way
·       Top things to focus on with our missionaries (planning, Book of Mormon, Divine Identity, etc.)
·       The Book of Mormon is a keystone … we want to be in the Book of Mormon
·       “What is it ye shall hope for” … Moroni 7:41
·       Need to break the routine … answers come when doing something different … testimony of the Book of Mormon and that Joseph Smith is a prophet … the importance of “real intent” … how we can teach our family about the restored Gospel
·       The power of the Book of Mormon, importance of the missionaries reading the Book of Mormon
·       Teaching in the Lord’s way
·       Importance of being aligned with our local Priesthood leaders (goals, plans, etc.)
·       Thankful for advanced preparation … felt impressions even before the seminar
·       Saving ordinances + covenants = eternal life … good planning produces happy missionaries, happy missionaries produce productive missionaries
·       Need to teach missionaries how to pray
·       Liked the ideas from Stake President (that attended the seminar in the session done by Elder Haleck) and how he uses Preach My Gospel … we need to teach the members this
·       What is our purpose and our missionaries purpose  … learning to be great fathers and mothers
·       What we are learning at the seminar can apply to our work in our mission
·       Learned about the importance of involving parents and home stake presidents with missionaries that are having difficulty … we need to be involved with missionaries after their mission
·       Mission Presidents need to help our missionaries repent, to read their scriptures, etc.
·       D&C 4 … ask and it shall be opened … the Lord will direct us (as we knock)
·       Testimony of other missionary wives … power of testimony … knowing that our efforts our sustained … the Lord accepts our efforts
·       Moroni 7:41 … according to the “promise” … the atonement will bear us up … let not your hearts be troubled … let us not be afraid

·       The importance of the missionary … making sure they reach their full potential
·       What makes a great missionary … how to bring their testimony to a level higher … so they understand why the work is so important

·       The renewing of this seminar has been helpful … our missionaries need to be renewed as well
·       Elder Bednar’s talk about “Learning in the Lord’s Way” … eager to go home and help our missionaries … the spirit will teach them
·       It’s easy to love my missionaries … need to also help my returned missionaries (the Saviour loves each of them)
·       Feelings of gratitude to the Area Presidency … we need to now teach our missionaries
·       This work is possible with my companion (Mission President and wife working together)

·       Revelation: fill our minds with knowledge, pondering, fitting process, moments of enlightenment, then the Holy Ghost changes the questions, take your questions to the Lord, study your notes and your impressions
